RETAINED RECRUITMENT SERVICE

WHY USE A RETAINED RECRUITMENT SERVICE?

For challenging and complex requirements such as difficult location, time-sensitive, niche skills, hard-to-fill, seniority, a retained recruitment service should be considered.

Retained recruitment services allows for a rigorous methodology process to be used along with allocating more resources such as time, data, and technology.

HOW DOES A RETAINED RECRUITMENT SERVICE WORK?

A retained recruitment service is where an agency works exclusively with you and requires an upfront retainer.  This small financial commitment secures commitment to reach a result with a robust search process:

  • You are typically charged 30% to 45% of the annual salary.
  • There will usually be an upfront fee, followed by payments by installments according to milestones in the recruitment process.

WHAT ARE THE PAYMENT MILESTONES?

Percentages vary from agency to agency; however, most follow the following milestones for payments by installments:

  • Upfront retainer fee – Usually 1/3 of the fee.
  • Fee when 1st candidate is interviewed – Usually 1/3 of the fee.
  • Remainder of fee when candidate accepts – Usually 1/3 of the fee.

We are committed to your next recruitment search and providing a service that is charged fairly. 

Our payment milestones are:

  • Upfront retainer fee: 20% of fee.
  • Successful candidate’s first day of work: 40% of fee.
  • On the 6-month anniversary: 40% of fee (remainder).

If you want CVs fast, then this approach isn’t right for you.  However, if you are looking to working with an expert who will apply a rigorous search process and commit to working with you until we reach a result, then our retained recruitment service is right for you.

CONTINGENCY RECRUITMENT SERVICE

WHY USE A CONTINGENCY RECRUITMENT SERVICE:

For straightforward, everyday hires, we recommend a contingency recruitment service – no win no fee and there is no commitment on either side.

Contingency recruitment services don’t require a retainer upfront.  A one-off fee is only paid once the position has been successfully filled:

  • The agency a one-off fee is equal to a certain percentage of the role’s annual salary (often 20-30%). 
  • The fee is usually payable within 14 days either upon acceptance of the role or on the first day of employment.

REBATE PERIOD EXPLAINED:

If the employee leaves within a set period (often the three-month probation period), the agency will either replace them for free, or refund the fee paid (or in some cases, a percentage of the fee paid).

Typically the rebate period is:

  • Up to 4 weeks: A new applicant is supplied free of charge or a rebate of 100% of the fee.
  • 5-8 weeks: A rebate of 40% of the fee.
  • Week 9-12: A rebate of 20% of the fee.

  • Because of our commitment to you, our preference is to be the agency of choice for you and therefore offer preferential rates to work exclusively.
  • By working exclusively with you, we get to build a stronger relationship and ensure better hires faster.
WE DON’T USE A REBATE PERIOD:

We are dedicated to helping you make better hires. That is why we don’t use rebate periods.  Instead, you only pay us once the candidate reaches the following milestones:

  • 1st day of work = 1/3 of the fee.
  • 3-month anniversary = 1/3 of the fee.
  • 6-month anniversary = 1/3 of the fee / remainder of fee.

WHY USE ASSESSMENT TOOLS

Assessment tools when combined with structured interviews give you the highest predictive values when compared with traditional screening tools.

Assessment tools allow you to measure more data points in your recruitment process so that you can make better hiring decisions and improve retention:

  • By measuring more data earlier, you can make better hiring decisions faster, which reduces your time to hire, costs, and resources used.
  • By relying more on science and less on gut instinct, you will minimise bias and increase diversity and inclusion in your decision making.
LICENCE VS PAY PER ASSESSMENT

Depending on which Assessment tools you use, you can either pay per assessment or use a Licence Agreement to have unlimited use.

If you plan on assessing a small amount of candidates each year, then the pay per assessment will be more cost effective.

However, if you plan on making multiple hires and want to make the best hiring decisions by measuring more data earlier, then the licence agreement is best for you.

We are dedicated to helping you make better hires. That is why we provide assessments via a licence agreement.  

This approach allows you to assess more candidates earlier to save you time and money, whilst making the best hiring decisions.

With a licence agreement, pricing is  based on your on your headcount and you have unlimited use of the assessment tools with full access to the intuitive software and comprehensive reporting.
